Introduction to The Last of Us

The Last of Us is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. This game is developed by Naughty Dog and was initially released in 2013 on PS3 by Sony Computer Entertainment.

In the game, the player takes control of Joel, a man tasked with escorting a young girl, Ellie, across the United States and defending against cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus.

The game also has an online multiplayer mode, called Factions, allowing up to eight players to engage in competitive gameplay in rearranged versions of multiple single-player settings.

Once the game was released, it received critical acclaim, with praise for its narrative, gameplay, visuals, sound design, score, characterization, and depiction of female characters.

Therefore, Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Remastered for the PlayStation 4 in July 2014. Then, it released The Last of Us 2, a sequel to The Last of Us, for PS4 in 2020. In addition, it also released a remake of The Last of Us – The Last of Us Part 1 – for PlayStation 5 in September 2022.

The Last of Us Platforms and Release Dates

The Last of Us all versions’ release dates are as follows: 

• The initial The Last of Us release date is June 14, 2013.

In addition, the PS5 is capable of dynamic lighting and shadows, letting everything look richer, more realistic, and more impressive.

#2. Optimized gameplay

Moving and shooting are a hybrid between the original and Part 2. The level design has been changed at points. More destruction is introduced into the environmental reaction. In addition, the giraffe haptics feature of the DualSense has been implemented in Part 1, including adaptive triggers while shooting and haptics in specific sequences.

#3. More advanced accessibility options

New colorblind modes, audio description, navigation assistance, alternative control schemes, and more are included in Part 1.

The Last of Us Part 1 vs The Last of Us Part 2

Because The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us Part 2 are both games released in the 20s, their technologies are almost the same. Therefore, their visual effects and character action effects are on the same level. Their difference lies in the game story and gameplay.

The game story of the original The Last of Us is so excellent that it was remade into a TV series. The Last of Us Part 1 keeps the original story. At the time of writing, Steam and Epics don’t release The Last of Us Part 1 PC requirements. However, many people have made their predictions on The Last of Us Part 1 PC requirements. It seems that The Last of Us Part 1 requires space of 79GB at least and a GPU like 1060, but many people recommend 1080ti.

The Last of Us Part 2 PC Requirements

Although there is no The Last of Us Part 2 PC currently, you can still play The Last of Us Part 2 on your PC. There are 2 ways for you.

Way 1. Use PS Remote Play

This service can stream your PlayStation games from your console to your phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, PS5, or PS4 consoles. To use this service, you need to meet the following requirements:

• A PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, PS4, or PS4 Pro2 console connected to a broadband network.

To use the PS cloud gaming service, you need to meet the following requirements:

• A PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.
• An adult account for PlayStation Network.
• Broadband with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps — a wired connection is recommended.
• A compatible controller, like the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller.
• A Windows 8.1 or 10 PC with a Core i3 2.0 GHz CPU, 300 MB of available storage, and 2 GB of RAM.

Then, you need to download the PlayStation Plus app and sign in it. Connect the controller to your PC and then search for The Last of Us Part 2 for streaming.
